LANDSCAPE SUPERVISOR

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-5 years’ experience, including supervisory experience

  • Understanding of landscape and outdoor construction related equipment

  • Ability to identify any plant, tree, or turf issues

  • Set and monitor irrigation clocks

QUALITIES:

  • Candidates should possess take-charge attitude, communication skills, and solid work ethic

  • Maintain excellent customer service and communication skills with employees, clients, and management

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment,  and able to adapt to frequent changes in work priorities

  • Preference will be shown to bi-lingual candidates

MANAGERIAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Superior judgment and ability to problem-solve

  • Conduct before and after inspections, assess the timing and feasibility of sites, and offer valuable and proactive suggestions/improvements

  • Drive/maintain our work trucks

  • Coordinate, manage, and monitor landscape crews; prioritize daily work lists, execute crew work assignments to meet daily, weekly and monthly project requirements

  • Complete daily time sheets and job reports

  • Maintain necessary equipment and materials needs, and utilize labor, materials, supplies and equipment in an efficient manner

  • Perform basic administrative and accounting procedural functions

  • Understand and practice safety in all work circumstances

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Capacity to move constantly on uneven surfaces and lift/move heavy objects up to 80 lbs

  • Must be able to: perform duties at a client/customer site; work alone and closely with others; work in excessive heat, humidity, and occasional cold; and work with exposure to chemicals, fumes, smoke, gases

LANDSCAPE FOREMAN

  • Manage, direct, and oversee crew members to perform landscape installation work, enhancements, assist as necessary grounds maintenance and/or mowing assignments.

  • Proficient, able to perform work with limited supervision from inception through completion

  • Perform quality control inspections of assigned work

  • Ability to manage required paperwork

  • Understand and practice safety in all work circumstances

  • Drive/maintain our work trucks

  • Exceptional leadership skills

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and conduct on takeoff in the field for ordering materials

  • Ability to maintain an organized work plan for jobsite

  • Ability to communicate clearly and interact with and clients, other team members, supervisors, management, subcontractors of other trades, and county and city inspectors in a professional manner

  • Preference will be shown to bi-lingual candidates

LABORER

  • Physically able to lift/carry/move up to 80 lbs, climb ladders, bending, digging trenches and holes, pulling wire, and any other function required to perform stated job to include walking and standing for long periods of time

  • Experience in landscaping

  • Ability to operate landscape equipment and light equipment

  • Ability to work in various landscape settings and weather conditions

  • Understand and practice safety in all work circumstances

  • Flexible and able to adapt to various job sites, both residential and commercial

  • Knowledge of planting trees/shrubs/groundcovers, irrigation installation, mulching, pruning, transplanting, turf renovation and light hardscape construction such as small retaining walls and patios

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Work on a variety of designing and installation of projects, both residential and commercial, using pavers, landscape, irrigation, lighting and masonry. Assist in bidding, purchasing and closeout processing of projects. Attend sales consultations with homeowner and go through the sales and design process.

Spend time shadowing production team and help with day-to-day operations. We are seeking individuals with a great work ethic who can provide excellent customer service and communicate well with employees, clients and management. Applicants must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Individuals must be flexible and able to adapt to frequent changes in work priorities and possess time management skills to meet deadlines. Red Valley Landscape & Construction demands that safety practices always be used.

M-F   7:30 am – 5:30 pm    Saturday as Needed
